[edit] General site questions
[edit] How do I change the site template?
Look in the "Preferences" section on the top right (in the default skin)
[edit] I want to use a template not there. Can I?
Email me at the email address on the front page. Make sure the template is compatible with MediaWiki 1.5.
[edit] I don't like how a certain page is done
Bring this point up on that pages discussion, and someone will help make the decision whether to change it
[edit] I want to add to this page, can you do it?
No. You can create your own account and edit it yourself. MediaWiki is very simple to use, and formatting errors will often be cleared up by someone else if you do it wrong anyway, so don't be scared.
[edit] Can you make a new page for me?
No. again, do it yourself. Its simple, just put double [ around the page title with underscores for spaces. This will create a link to a blank page. Add your content.
[edit] Page specific questions
[edit] Why do you not order the compatibility list under the headings Works, Untested and Doesn't work?
Perhaps this could be implemented in 50 rom chunks at a later date, leaving the latest roms still open, but for now the current method is the easiest from an editing point of view.
[edit] Technical Questions
[edit] I updated my firmware and I get an error saying "Write PSRAM Fail!"
Your unit may be faulty. Try downgrading to an older firmware version.
(M3 Lite) The "PSRAM Fail!" error may also be caused by the M3 case itself. Some people have had success by loosening the screw that holds the two halves of the case together.
Another solution, is to take the unit apart, and on the lower half of the casing, on the back wall, there are 3 small plastic pieces that stick off the back wall, these pieces push on the circuit board causing it to not align properly. With a dremel or small piece of sand paper, grind/sand these pieces down flush with the back wall and put the unit back together.
[edit] Do 4GB SD/CF cards work?
4GB CF cards will work using FAT32, but 4GB SD cards are unlikely to work, as the SD standard supports a maximum of 2GB, and the M3 SD adapter is not known to support SDHC (High Capacity). Edit: a recent revision of the M3 firmware is reported to support SDHC. The M3 DS Real Supports Micro SDHC which will support all micro sd cards up to 32GB.
[edit] I have problems loading XXXX homebrew software.
Some things you can do is rename the file from .nds to .ds, .gba, or ensuring you have the right version for your hardware (Many homebrew apps use different versions for CF & SD). Also, don't use the boot loader to patch homebrew.
[edit] Is it possible to revert back to the original firmware after using flashMe?
Yes. Simply use noflashme. However, the only reason you would need to reinstall the original firmware is if you are going to send your NDS into Nintendo for repairs or something while it's under warranty. You can still play games with friends who don't have an M3 even if you have FlashMe.
[edit] When making M3 skins I get an error that says that "mainnds.bmp" (or some other such file) file length is wrong, but I'm sure it's correct.
This problem can happen sometimes with certain image editing software. Open it up in MS Paint and try to save it that way.
[edit] Other Questions
[edit] Can I have a link to {this rom/this homebrew/this file}?
No. This is a community orientated information hub designed to have information that is accessible to all. Clogging up the wiki in talk pages and the community portal is not needed. Register at a forum (see Links) and ask for legal files there. If you want roms, try IRC or rom sites.
